Podium until the end of days

This is unquestionably the album that consolidated Mastodon as the upcoming band possessing a twist to story telling.
Following on the superb Ol'e Nessie and March of the Fire Ants, Leviathan starts with a captivating song in Blood and Thunder, and from that initial second and the exquisite guitar riffs, it only gets better. Personally, I devour on Iron Tusk every time I hear this record, but the remaining tracks are second to none. An album that deserves to be plaid beginning to end.

I had a whale of a time listening to this!

While sitting in a gloomy pub in Whitby I came across a troubled looking Japanese man. Curious as to what was bothering him I did what any true Yorkshire man would, offered him a pint of Stones. As the evening drew on he confided in me that he used to work for Japans whaling industry and that he had fled due to increasing pressure from global preservation charities and had just landed in Britain with no money.

Just before we parted company he handed me a battered memory stick claiming that the contents were all the rage among the whaling community. Naturally I was nervous about accessing the contents but after months of inner turmoil, curiousity got the best of me. And i'm so happy it did.

This glorious record encased within its digital walls. Upon the first listen I realised what had inspired many a Japanese fisherman, but their is so much more to this album. I had to have a hard copy for myself!

Just like the fisherman that turned me onto the record I searched far and wide for this white whale, with very little success. Until I stumbled on EMP.

If you like whales this is the album for you! If not, what did a whale ever do to you?

Artwork is slightly different from that shown, the disc is bone white.

thanks for an awesome delivery!

I was looking to put my hand on a decent vinyl copy of this master piece in a while. It took some time to arrive, when it did, the EMP box was smashed badly.
Surprisingly, without me ever asking, the box was double packed, so the outer box was just the bad first impression for me. on the inside, I've found this precious safe and beautiful. and even though the shipment was definitely been damaged badly, I ended up with a lightly creased corner, but with an amazing piece of music to listen to!
Thanks!!!
