History has proven that the Irish surpass themselves with each new album. 2002, their fourth output was considered the cream of Celtic Epic Black Metal (and rightly so). Also includes a DVD with their performance at Germany's Summer Breeze Festival 2004.

Underrated and bloodied yet unbowed

Storm Before Calm is definitely the most underrated Primordial album ever. But this remastered edition shows how good it really is. A perfect sound? Check. Amazing songs? Check. A new cover? Check. An awesome live DVD? Check. So, it's definitely worth listening to - at least to realise how wrong people were when they critisised this recording in the first place!
And I'd like to say thank you to EMP for the perfect quality of the products (I ordered this CD along with Gods to the Godless Live, the latest Primordial release). They've made a long way from Germany to Russia, but neither the cases nor the booklets nor the CDs seemed to be 'tired' at all!
So, five stars! Lots of pros and not a single con.

Under rated!

Storm Before Calm is Primordial's most under rated album. The band faced many difficulties during the recordings, the album was poorly promoted and was considered by many during those days as a step backwards. My opinion is very different from that, since I consider this album as one of Primordial's gems, and the one with the most unexpectedly primal sound. After all, it's a part of the band's best foursome of albums (starting from Spirit the Earth Aflame). The Heretics Age and Sons of The Morrigan are two of my favourite Primordial's songs. Thanks to this re-release, Storm Before Calm has finally been released the way it should have in the first place, great work from Metal Blade! I am really glad that this album is finally a part of my collection.
