Cataract are on top of their game - strutting their stuff in the composition and sound department (the control and switch work was done by Tue Madsen at his Antfarm Studios again, of course). What can you expect? Twelve pieces of top-notch, hefty, aggressive Metalcore honed to perfection.

Starting with “Never” the Swiss-based Metalcore band Cataract incorporates some Death Metal elements in the guitar riffs which work out very well with the vocals of Federico Carminitana. In general, there are more Death Metal elements than expected. This demonstrates that the band is far away from the typical Metalcore bands which represent the main advantage to other actual releases. Nevertheless they know their roots and spread them over “Killing the eternal” which represents the sixth full-length. After some filling changes the band released a self-named record two years ago. Compared to this record the new release shows more heaviness and straight forwarded riffs. Extended with the brilliant drums and the massive riffs the record works perfect as a driving force. Parts of the song “Drain murder and loss” have a similar sound to “Black metal” of Venom. This is a decent record and is probably the only Metalcore record that is good enough for the collection!
